In the framework of the EUMETNET SRNWP-EPS project in the Forecasting Capability Area, the joint Workshop entitled "LAM-EPS verification on extremes and forecasting value chain for High Impact Weather Practical Operational" will take place by Bluejeans videoconference from the 26th to 28th of October 2021.

The SRNWP-EPS 2019-2023 project was established by EUMETNET as modulee under the umbrella of NWP Cooperation Programme into Forecasting Capability Area.
The SRNWP-EPS main aim is to enhance the cooperation on convection-permitting LAM ensembles in Europe in order to better forecasting a range of weather phenomena and in particular for improving high impact weather prediction.
The SRNWP-EPS project is managed by AEMET (Spain), ItAF-REMET (Italy) and RMI (Belgium). Currently twenty-two of the 31 EUMETNET members agreed to participate into the project.
The joint Workshop entitled "LAM-EPS verification on extremes and forecasting value chain for High Impact Weather" is organized by SRNWP-EPS project in 2021 by videoconference due to pandemic situation.
The Workshop will take place during the last week of October 2021 from the 26th to 28th starting during mornings at 09:30 CEST and finishing around 12:00 CEST with a Value Chain activity in the morning of Wednesday 27th.
Moreover two afternoon sessions devoted to "SRNWP-EPS LAM-EPS database and Research Plan" and to "LAM-EPS, Post-processing and applications" will be hold during the 26th and 27th afternoons respectively from 14:30 to 16:00 CEST.
The general aim of the Workshop is to bring together EPS scientists/developers and some forecast's users to discuss the quality and the usefulness of the LAM-EPS systems in forecasting high-impact weather, with the purpose to find out the strong and weak points and how it could be improved. In particular, it is expected to realise together a value chain activity, focusing on convective high impact weather and extremes.
The Workshop will be structured around presentations of invited speakers and participants, short oral poster-type presentations and discussion sessions.
